ANNUAL MEETING OF FRIENDS OF MESA LIBRARY

Former Mesa Vice-Mayor Dennis Kavanaugh will be the featured speaker at the annual meeting of the Friends of the City of Mesa Library to be held on January 28, 2006 in the Community Room of the Red Mountain Branch Library at 635 N. Power Road.  Free refreshments will be served at the event which will be in the Community Room from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M.

Following the speech by Kavanaugh, which will focus on the importance of libraries in the community and the fiscal crisis in the City of Mesa, a business meeting will be held to elect the officers and the Board of Directors for the coming year.  Anyone concerned about the future of the libraries in Mesa or who is interested in membership in the Friends or serving on the Board is encouraged to attend. 

The future of the City of Mesa Library branches is threatened and this is an opportunity for citizens to show their concern and support for this institution.
